Course Info

As you drive up to the club house the road is lined with beautiful boulders that add to the scenic layout and beautiful rolling hills of
the course. Every staff member in the pro shop greets you with a smile and makes you feel as if you are the only customer on the course.

The greens and fairways consist of bent and poa grass. Every other week the greens are top dressed, cut vertically and rolled maintaining a 9.5 to 10 on the stimpmeter. The greens were perfectly built and have the best drainage in the area. So why is drainage critical? With the proper drainage system it helps “waterproof” the greens allowing for water to drain fast. It
will allow for faster greens and give a more consistent play.

With rolling hills, elevated tee boxes and multiple ponds and lakes this course is not only fun to play but it also challenging for any
level golfer. Golfers come from Buffalo, Syracuse and even Toronto to play this course, and they absolutely love it.

The 18th hole hands down is the best hole. You have to lay up off the tee, and then hit your approach over a giant pond to the green that is shared by the 9th & 18th holes. Big numbers can be put up on this hole if you are not careful.

When at Greystone make sure you stop in and grab a bite to eat and a drink. They have an amazing bar for a public course. From the custom woodwork to the staff, their friendly atmosphere makes you feel like one of the family.

This course is beautiful, the staff is top-notch and the golfers do nothing but rave about Greystone.

Wow!!! This has to be the nicest public course in Rochester. The 18th hole is amazing. Make sure you lay up off the tee or you will go into the huge pond (which you will need to carry about 125yds to hit the green on your 2nd shot). Awesome course – make sure you play Greystone in the very near future.

Anyone have details on Rover’s Morning Glory – Golf with Rover and Greystone?

I love Greystone and really want to make it out for Rover and the crew. I have to see Dumb hit a golf ball!

Was out to Greystone on Friday and the course was in amazing shape. I suggest the next time you go out and play that you select Greystone. Only 8 miles from Shadow Lake it is worth the extra 10 minute drive. The course, the staff and Shoney’s Pub is awesome! Can’t wait until next weekend when I play there again.

By far, one of the nicest public courses you’ll ever find yourself on anywhere. I’m from the Niagara region in Canada and we have some fantastic courses and I’ve played many courses in the Rochester area, but Greystone is above all of them. Everything from the price to play to the condition is superb. Would recommend this course to anyone who loves golf, scenery and 3 putts! The greens are PGA tour tough!

I have been waiting to play greystone for a long time and it was worth the wait. I played like I have never played before. I have played alot of courses but by far this is going down as my absolute favorite. I felt like I was on vacation. It is a beautiful course.

  6. Great course, always kept well. A Management change a year ago caused our league some big heartaches because they did not honor prior commitments. We all grow and learn, just beware of that.

Got a few spare balls in the bag?? This is a good place to recycle them. Hit one into the “heather grass” and bring three out. None of which will be yours.
All kidding aside, this course puts a premium on staying in the fairway. If you’re not in the short grass you’re probably not on the course.. An absolutely fabulous layout, with some room for error and lots of reward for accuracy…
